| LONG ISLAND TEAMS |
Four teams from Long Island traveled to Rochester, NY, for the APTA Men's National Championships March 15th - 16th. John Schmitt (Cherry Valley Club) and Danny Rothschild (Garden City G.C.) seeded #7 lost in the semi-finals (2-6,6-3,6-3) to former National Champions, Scott Mansager + Flip Goodspeed. Brad Easterbrook
(Huntington C.C.) and Alex Bancila (Cherry Valley Club) seeded #6 were ousted in the round of 16 by #10 seed Scott Bondurant and Mark Johnson. Brad and Alex went on to win the Round of 16 Reprieve, defeating Mike Gillespie and J.P. Arraya in the final. Michael Stern (Huntington C.C.) and Richie Green (Huntington YMCA) lost in the 3rd round to #1 seed and defending Champions Scott Estes and Mike Cochrane. Tim Mangan (Nassau C.C.) and Tim Main (Creek Club) also competed in the tournament. Congratulations to all for their good effort and fine showing.
