ANNUAL MEETING
|
The LIPTA Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors was held on May 19th at the Piping Rock Club.Officers elected, for the 2009-2010 term, have Duane L. Hayden returning as President, Tim Mangan returns as Vice-President, Nick Poliseno returns as Treasurer, Charles Vasoll replaces Kate Schneider as Secretary.
Nick Poliseno reported that LIPTA's financial condition is healthy and in good order, thus Annual Dues will remain the same as for the 2008-2009 season.
The 2009-2010 Tournament Schedule was set, details will follow.
The Men's League Captains Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday September 16th at Plandome C.C.. The Men's League will start on Tuesday October 13th and Thursday October 15th.
New Directors are James Tuffin - Southward Ho!; Brian McElhenny - Huntington Bay Club; Dan Rothschild - Garden City Golf Club.

Local Teams Highly Ranked
|
The final, for the 2008-2009 season, APTA Men's National Rankings have just been published. After a fine season, culminating with a strong showing in Cincinnati at the Men's Nationals where they were finalists. Brad Easterbrook (Huntington Country Club) and Alex Bancila (Cherry Valley Club)achieved a Rank of #2 in the country. Dan Rothschild(Garden City Golf Club) and John Schmitt(Cherry Valley Club) were ranked #7 in the country. Congratulations and well done to Brad, Alex, Dan and John for their achievements during the season that led to their rankings.

Web Site Is Open
|
The Board of Trustees of the Platform Tennis Museum and Hall of Fame Foundation have announced that its web site is open. The address is www.platformtennishalloffame.org Visitors will be able to view Development Photos, a Video History of the Sport, Foundation History, Memorabilia photos and to link to the Hall of Fame Inductees on the APTA site. LIPTA members are encouraged to learn about the background of the sport by visiting the site.

New Membership Online Service
|
In the past, the LIPTA Membership Directory was in booklet form, this year the Directory is online, there will not be a Directory in booklet form. To use the Directory you must know your LIPTA Membership Number and Password. LIPTA recently did a mailing to all LIPTA Members, contained in that mailing was the Membership Number and a unique Password for each member. If you are a new member or an existing member and did not receive the mailing, please contact Duane Hayden at -duanelhayden@aol.com-. LIPTA will e-mail your Membership Number and Password.
